A lovely Sunday to you!

Here's a really quick hello from me -
I've been perched in my recent chair find
devouring the latest issue of Rum
which had a Paris theme this time (always fine by me!),
and included this elegant home
As for the chair,
 the 1950s pared-down Swedish beauty
was a bargain from a garage sale
 at the weekend
(a rather upmarket 'garage sale' I hasten to add,
held at a photographer's studio).

Tonight it's the third session
of a photography course I'm taking this spring,
trying to become closer friends
with f/stops and apertures among other things.
I'm thoroughly enjoying it!

I took the picture above this afternoon
- a bit of a memento, as we ripped up the lino flooring from our hallway.
Next on the list is to call the trusted sander,
who also took care of the floors in other parts of our apartment. We've been throwing ideas of concrete tiles, painted checkered floors and even herringbone parquet in the air,
but in the end decided to at least start off
with the same look as in the other rooms
- layers of lye, oil mixed with white pigment, and soap.
As for the rest of the space, only two things are for sure right now
 - a bit of a gallery & some votives.
Here's a few with elements that inspire me.

The whimsical, fantastical home of Miranda Brooks and her architect husband Bastien Halard looks like the perfect pastoral idyll, a far cry from hectic city living. But no, it's tucked in Brooklyn, New York.

A pony in the kitchen, why of course :)

I've had a bit of an unexpected blog break, as my poor dear mr. mac was quite poorly
- but he's up and running again, & so am I.

Today for a glimpse into the world of Copenhagen-based fashion designer Naja Munthe, who is the creative talent behind the munthe plus simonsen label and author of Fashionable Living
Photographer Morten Koldby kindly gave me permission to share these images from his portfolio
and here's a little sneak peek into her life at work and at home.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
